We cater to people with Special Needs by providing the extra care that they require. Some examples are patients with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, ADHD, cystic fibrosis, a person in a wheelchair or anyone who is compromised.
Usually it takes more time and more people to treat the Special Needs patient. If necessary we will bring in an anesthesiologist to provide sedation to enable treatment for the patient.
Special Needs goes beyond patients who have physical limitations. Sometimes patients have limitations due to being medically compromised, in that their medications dictate what treatment we can or cannot give.
Dr. Scapillato has been treating Special Needs patients for 40 years. The office is wheelchair accessible and provides a setting that is comfortable for the Special Needs patient.
